Our new web site has an integrated News and Calendar feature. Each area of the club (Teams, BISA Training, Coach info, etc) will be leveraging these new sections to post their information. This should make it easy for you to quickly learn what is going on within the club and your areas of interest. If your desktop computer supports RSS feeds and/or iCal feeds you'll also be able to subscribe to this information and get automatically updated when it changes. You can even subscribe to multiple things at once, so you get all your updates at the same time. Even if you don't want to subscribe to the information, it will be easy for to create a custom calendar/news page on the biysc web site that you can check for updates.
Many team sites will not be live in '07, so some of this will be "imagine if you will..."
Some examples:
#1) You are a parent of a Bainbridge FC GU14 Azzurri player and want to get the most recent game/schedule info.
Browse to the Bainbridge FC/Girls/GU14 Azzurri team page. In the Calendar section, you can view the game schedule directly in your browser. If you use an iCal compatible desktop calendar, click on Subscribe to iCal Feed, then on your local Calendar, rename your calendar to Bainbridge FC GU14 Azzurri. If you use RSS Feeds, click on Subscribe to RSS Feed and let your browser put the feed in its regular spot.
Now when your coach/team manager updates your game schedule or info about your team, your desktop calendar and browser are instantly updated with this information.
#2) You are a parent of a Bainbridge FC GU14 Azzuri Player, a GU11 BI1 Rec player, want to keep up to date on BISA trainings and Fields for our Future.
Since you have a number of things you are interested in, lets build a custom calendar/news site. Click on the main Calendar button, and then the Show Tag Menu. In that menu, put a check-box next to Club News, GU14 Azzurri, GU11 BI1, BISA and Fields for our Future. Then click Hide tag menu. You'll now see a custom calendar that has all the events for your interests. If you use an iCal compatible desktop calendar, click on Subscribe to iCal Feed, then on your local Calendar, rename your calendar to BIYSC Stuff. If you use RSS Feeds, click on Subscribe to RSS Feed and let your browser put the feed in its regular spot.
Now click on News, and the tags you selected in Calendar should still be there, so you'll be viewing all the recent News of the groups you are interested in. Click on Subscribe to RSS Feed and let your browser put the feed in its regular spot.
#3) You want to see the home game schedule for all of Bainbridge FC this weekend.
Click the Calendar button, and then the Show Tag Menu. In that menu, put a check-box next to Bainbridge FC/Game Schedule/Home. Then click Hide tag menu. You'll now see a custom calendar that has all the home games of the various Bainbridge FC teams. If you use an iCal compatible desktop calendar, click on Subscribe to iCal Feed, then on your local Calendar, rename your calendar to Bainbridge FC. If you use RSS Feeds, click on Subscribe to RSS Feed and let your browser put the feed in its regular spot.
